Life Coaching Opens Eyes

Life coaching can be described or explained in many ways.

Here’s one description that I coined:

“Life coaching involves a programme of sessions or mini-interventions that help empower individuals to grow and develop rapidly through exposure to tools and techniques that assist them to open their eyes to what really is possible for them to be do and have.”

What I like about this particular description is the reference to the ‘opening of eyes’ that takes place during coaching.

Effective life coaching can bring about dramatically positive changes in the lives of people simply by getting them to see themselves and the world around them from bright and exciting new perspectives.

“The most important thing in life is to stop saying ‘I wish’ and start saying ‘I will’. Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities.”

– Charles Dickens

Power to the People

Our planet is both a wondrous and downright scary place to be right now.

We humans are naturally predisposed to seek the safety of the status quo rather than embrace change. Yet, just about everything around us is changing and there’s no sign of that letting up.

Whether you take a political, economic or social perspective on things, the world is changing like never before and at a rate that most of us find breathtaking and … quite frankly … bewildering!

It would all be very disheartening if it weren’t for one very encouraging aspect …

Individual people are beginning to wake up to the real power that they have to influence the nature of the world we live in!

Stuck In a Rut?

Life coaching is particularly effective for those people who, though mentally well and fully functional, are simply ‘stuck in a rut’!

Let’s face it, we all have that stuck feeling at some stage of other in our lives. But that’s not to say that it isn’t hugely frustrating and debilitating while it lasts.

So what’s the cause of it and what’s the best strategy for getting out of a rut?

“When we are stuck in a rut we are being invited to grow and expand.”

2016 – A Year of Change

This will be the last Life Coaching Insights Blog Post for 2016 as I join many of you esteemed readers in taking a well deserved break for a few weeks!

As the year draws to a close there will surely be no lack of pronouncements by the various media on how it, and the various events that characterised it, stacked up in importance to – and affect on – the human race.

Here’s how I see it:

“The new year will be like the old one if you keep on doing the same old things.”

Times Are Changing

Mainstream media would have had us believe that although the Brexit vote would be close, there was little doubt that, come the 23rd June, the British would opt for the ‘safe’ option and choose to stay in the European Union.

Likewise, we were assured that in the US, despite Donald Trump’s unlikely success in the race for the Republican party nomination, he – painted by most media as little more than a buffoon – would stand little chance against the ‘safe pair of hands’, Hillary Clinton, in Tuesday’s election.

Yeah, right!

– Al Rogers
