Financial Abundance (Part 2)

In Part 1 of this post, we explored the idea that the biggest obstacle to enjoying financial abundance lies in the beliefs one holds about the subject of money, wealth and abundance.

Although at a conscious level you may feel that you are doing everything possible to achieve prosperity, there may be limiting beliefs ‘imprinted’ in your subconscious mind that are ’sabotaging’ your best efforts.

Simply put, there is cause (limiting beliefs about money) and resulting effect (lack of financial abundance).

For example, parents who struggled financially throughout life and who embodied a type of ‘poverty’ mentality to help them cope, may unwittingly have created the environment for their children to develop ‘imprints’ or subconsciously held beliefs that they too would always be destined to  struggle financially.

Let’s look at what it takes to achieve financial abundance.

“True abundance is not about what you have. It is about your state of mind!”

You Are What You Think

Any good dietician is likely to tell you: “You are what you eat.”

Any good life coach will appreciate that the quality of the fuel you feed your body can have an important – perhaps even dramatic – bearing on the quality of your life … but it does not constitute who you are or who you will become.

Instead, life coaches are more likely to pronounce: “You are what you think.”

That’s because the nature of your thinking has a truly fundamental and profound effect on the type of person you are and the quality of life you lead.

“All that we are is a result of what we have thought.”

Separate yet Connected

When I was younger, I believed that my thoughts were my private domain – that it was safe to think whatever I wanted without affecting anyone negatively.

Because I was a separate entity who could affect others only through my actions.

For example, I knew too well that acting negatively towards others could, of course, cause harm. However, thinking negative thoughts about others, provided that such thoughts were not backed up by actions, was – I thought – totally private and harmless.

As I studied more about the Law of Attraction and human motivation I began to realise the power of thought and the importance of sustained, positive thinking in getting desired outcomes.

“We are all connected; To each other, biologically. To the earth, chemically. To the rest of the universe atomically.”

― Neil deGrasse Tyson

The Law of Attraction

The fundamental premise on which the Law of Attraction is based is that like attracts like.

Also implicit in Law of Attraction teachings is the power of thought. Everything that is manifest on a physical level starts out as a simple thought.

The implication of the Law of Attraction in our personal lives is profound. We invite into our experience that which we give sustained thought to. We are, therefore, the creators of our own reality.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

Let the Magic Happen

Why are we here?

I believe that we are all ‘chips off the old block’ so to speak and that each of us has been created with the specific intent to continue the process of creation in our evolving universe.

Each of us was born with an inherent purpose (our unique role in the unfolding creation).

But, thanks to the the various societal norms and standards that we have been taught to uphold, the demands of day-to-day living have served to obscure that purpose for many of us.

“You are one thing only. You are a Divine Being. An all-powerful Creator. You are a Deity in jeans and a t-shirt, and within you dwells the infinite wisdom of the ages and the sacred creative force of All that is, will be and ever was.”

― Anthon St. Maarten
